Due Santi Wines are some of the most elegant wines produced in Lazio. They are made with Cabernet and Merlot grapes grown on the University of Dallas' Eugene Constantin Campus, its study abroad campus located just outside of Rome, Italy.
 
Because of Due Santi's deep-rooted connection to the University of Dallas, we return a portion of the proceeds from every bottle of Due Santi Wines to the University of Dallas and the Rome Program.

The University of Dallas Due Santi Rosso 2022 will be coming to the USA soon. UD has partnered with the legendary Lazio producer Colle Picchioni to produce the wines from our exceptional organic vineyard, and 2022 represents our first vintage from this new partnership.

As part of the agreement, Colle Picchioni will add fruit from our vineyard to their winesand, in return, bottling between 1200 and 1500 bottles of reserve-level red wine exclusively from our Due Santi Vineyard. I tasted the 2022 Due Santi Rosso on my mostrecent trip to Rome, and I was immediately taken with this very serious but remarkably drinkable blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Francfrom our newest vineyard on the hill above the campus. To this date, it is the mostelegant and richest wine we have ever produced at Due Santi and a gorgeous wine to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Eugene Constantin Rome Campus at Due Santi.

Regrettably, due to the small harvest, we can only offer 1000 bottles of the 2022 DueSanti Rosso, which is about 25% of our usual volume. More wine and some captivating new Due Santi labels will be available from 2025 on wards. Therefore, as a wise winebroker once said, ‘If you want to play,’ you should secure your pre-order now, as these bottles could be gone in a matter of days.

Amidst the challenges of inflation, we are pleased to announce that the Due Santi Rosso 2022 price will remain unchanged. Furthermore, we offer our usual competitive pricing for pre-orders placed before the wine arrives in the USA, expected in November of this year.

I have overseen this fantastic Due Santi wine project since 2016. I continue to supportour work, and the support every bottle sold returns to The University of Dallas. As we go forward, my goal for this project is to one day fund our own working cantina at DueSanti, establish scholarships for various academic pursuits, and offer more ways for ouralums to return to Rome and get their hands dirty with this noble endeavor.

Dark and brooding in its depth of red color, this wine is almostinky and macerated for a lengthy period to generate this kind of extraction. I like toimagine the pigment being akin to something Caravaggio might have used to create hismost iconic images. The nose is rife with classic Italian Amarena cherries, followed bythe spicy, herbaceous notes from the young cabernet franc vines. On the palate, theDue Santi is pure silk and grace.
